Rectangular selection tool will allow you to select four sided selection while elliptical selection tool will let you select the curved area. You can add different layers and apply masks in order to edit the frequency and harmonics. Just like in an image you use a brush to remove its noise you can apply brushes on audio files to reduce noise. One interesting thing about this software is that you will edit the audio files with different brushes just like you edit your photos in different photo editing applications like Photoshop etc. What it does is that it displays the audio sample which you need to edit and instead of playing with its amplitude you will have to manipulate on its frequency.
